In April 2015, the British Council presented a series of events as part of The London Book Fair 2015 Mexico Market Focus. The Cultural Programme brought the best in contemporary literature from Mexico and publishing to the UK, giving audiences a rare opportunity to meet and interact with both established and emerging Mexican writers.

From 8 – 12 June 2015, Paul McVeigh and Tania Hershman, two short story writers from the UK, will travel to Mexico City, Monterrey and Tijuana to participate in activities over a week, including talks, conversations with Mexican writers and visits to key literary places. The trip will form part of the Cultural Programme, and will be funded jointly by British Council andConaculta (National Council for Culture and Arts , Mexico), and activities will be in partnership with Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA).

This activity will be a part of the Year of the UK in Mexico and the Year of Mexico in the UK, a year-long celebration of cultural, educational and business exchange between the two countries.
