1 Sept, w/ Donal Ryan & Anne Enright, Morges

I’ll be attending the Morges Literary Festival in Switzerland on 1-3 September 2017. This year the festival is celebrating Irish writers – here’s what they said on their website…

“Le livre sur les quais is delighted to host a group of Irish writers in Morges this year. It is an exciting time for Irish literature. A new and exciting wave of Irish writing is spreading around the world, winning awards and gathering accolades. Daring and original voices are emerging, invigorating both novels and short stories. The writing varies from edgy, sometimes dystopian to stylistically beautiful, poetic novels and superbly crafted historical fiction. This renaissance in Irish writing might be partly attributed to vibrant new small Irish presses which introduce a palpable energy to the publishing scene and challenge traditional concepts of ‘Irish literature’. Le livre sur les quais will have an opportunity to introduce several of these exciting writers to the public. Our guests will range from international award winners and household names to gifted first-time debuts and we very much hope that the audience will enjoy meeting them and reading their books. Some of the authors confirmed to participate at Le livre sur les quais : John Boyne, Kevin Barry, Sara Baume, Padraig Rooney, Donal Ryan.  More authors and the full programme will be announced closer to the festival.”

My first event is with the amazing Donal Ryan and Anne Enright.
